The wildflower meadow used to be part of our gravel drive but is now grown entirely for bees and butterflies!

We don’t cut the flowers and grasses here but instead leave them for wildlife to enjoy. The plants that grow seem to vary every year but normally include daisies, birdsfoot trefoil, thistles, lots of different grasses, poppies and cornflowers.

If you have 5 minutes to spare in the Summer, sit and watch a patch and see how many different types of insects you can see. The trees along the edge of the path are crabapples - the birds love eating the fruit in the Autumn and Winter.
