3. Higgledy Piggledy Patch

Cut Flowers

We met a lovely man called Ben who wanted some land to grow some flowers to harvest their seeds. He set up these 6 beds and helped us learn about growing flowers to encourage bees and to cut to put in the cottages.

We have planted seeds several times a year and love being able to put flowers in the cottages that have been grown right here on the farm.

This year we have planted:

August - Biennuals: foxgloves, wallflowers, cornflowers, hesperis

September - Hardy Annuals: dill, phlox, candytuft, nigella

October: Sweetpeas

June: Annuals: zinnia, cosmos, larkspur

In 2024 we also plan to plant a pumpkin patch so we can harvest them for Halloween fun (and delicious soup!)
